Ronnie Banks was been a Marketing and Communications Specialist at Holland Hospital since 2000. Former Secretary for the Senior Marketing Group – Lakeshore Area, Ronnie has also been a volunteer Mentor/Tutor for the Holland Rescue Mission’s program, The Rock.
A mother of two graduated dancers, Ronnie was a Turning Pointe volunteer for six years. She loves this ministry and the positive effect that involvement with Turning Pointe has had on her daughters’ lives.
Ronnie and her husband, Brian, have two grown daughters, a son-in-law, and a beautiful grandson.

Chip Brown is a leader with over 25 years’ experience in media and entertainment, including television, film, internet, live theatre, radio, animation, music and publishing. He has experience in both business and creative roles at major companies such as The Disney Studios, Walt Disney attractions, The Disney Channel, The Family Channel, Gaylord Entertainment, HarperCollins, Zondervan, Thomas Nelson, and the Lightsource channel on Broadcast.com and Yahoo! He has also held leadership positions at start-up companies in Dallas, Orlando and Los Angeles, and has served in leadership roles at Walk Thru the Bible and The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
Shortly after completing his Master’s degree in Media Management and Film Production, Chip wrote his first feature-length screenplay in only eight days. This animated script placed him as a finalist in Paramount Pictures Chesterfield Film Project competition, founded by Steven Spielberg, and won Chip literary representation in Beverly Hills. Relocating to L.A., Chip joined Disney Theatrical Productions, where he built a consumer direct and group sales ticketing company that led Disney’s Tony® Award-winning, The Lion King, to become the largest financial opening in Broadway history. He was thereafter promoted to a managing producer role with P&L responsibility, overseeing several theatre companies with a cast and crew of nearly 100 people each. Reporting through the Walt Disney Motion Picture Group, Chip also participated in Walt Disney corporate Synergy initiatives, contributing to the development of marketing strategies for motion pictures, TV shows, theme parks, CDs, consumer products and Disney’s Blast, one of the first subscription web sites and the number one site on the web for kids.
Chip currently consults for companies and authors through his content and marketing company Proper Media, and develops entertainment and publishing properties through his company Titus Entertainment. Both companies are based in Holland, Michigan. An involved member of the Holland community and Christ Memorial Church, he is the husband of Dana Brown and father of three children including one daughter, a member of the Performance Ensemble. No stranger to pointe shoes and bobby pins, Chip is eager to share his expertise in growing the Turning Pointe Ministry.

Kerri deVries is a lifelong resident of Holland. She graduated from Holland Christian in 1996, and from Hope College in 2000 with a major in Business and a minor in Art. She is married to Ryan deVries, a Commercial Loan Officer at Macatawa Bank. They live in on the south side of Holland in the Cobblestone neighborhood with their three children: Emma, Lillian, and Charlie. Both of Kerri’s daughters attend Turning Pointe.
Kerri is active in our business community. In 1998, she and her sister started Paint a Pot, a contemporary ceramic studio. In 2009, they started Peek a Boutique, a children’s clothing store. Kerri also works in a variety of capacities for Russ’ Restaurants corporate office, focusing on social media marketing.
Kerri has been active in serving the Holland community through volunteering. She’s a prior board member of Holland Junior Welfare League where she served for 6 years, helping to fund programs to benefit the children of the greater Holland area. Her love for Christ is shown in her involvement at Christ Memorial Church where she has been an active member for over 20 years, and is currently serving as a leader in the Gems girls’ ministry. Kerri is also an active volunteer at Holland Christian Schools.

Following many years of involvement as the parent of a Turning Pointe dancer, Kathy felt the calling to be on the board of Turning Pointe. Turning Pointe’s emphasis on high-caliber dance training in combination with heart-changing spiritual instruction has been transformative not only for her dancing daughter, but for her whole family as well. Through serving on the board Kathy hopes to help Turning Pointe continue its mission of using artistic excellence to reach the community for Christ. She has a special interest in supporting and furthering the reach of Soli Deo Gloria, the professional company of Turning Pointe Ministries.
Kathy has a Bachelor of Arts from Calvin College in Business and History. She currently works at Western Theological Seminary as an Educational Design and Technology Specialist, primarily supporting adjunct faculty and distance learning students. Prior employment includes positions in human resources, accounts receivable, and administrative support.
Past and present volunteer service includes Beechwood Church consistory, Tiffany Shores Board of Directors, nursery director, Vacation Bible School director, “I Believe” program mentor, Children’s Worship teacher, and school volunteer in multiple areas.

Matthew Farmeris currently the Chair of the Dance Department at Hope College and is the Co-Artistic Director of R.G. Dance Productions and the Co-Artistic Director of H2Dance Co. Formerly the Director of Dance at Anderson University, Farmer has had great success as a director, educator, choreographer, performer, and as an author; co-authoring a book (Introductory Modern Dance: A Teaching Manual) with his good friend and colleague Jon Lehrer. Formerly the Associate Director and company member of LehrerDance, Farmer appeared in Dance Teacher Magazine, Dance Magazine Online, and Dance Magazine. Prior to dancing with LehrerDance, Farmer danced with Peter Sparling as a company member of The Peter Sparling Dance Co. While dancing for Sparling, Matthew received his MFA from the University of Michigan in Dance Performance and Choreography. Farmer also studied under and performed with Steven Iannacone while receiving his BA in Theatre and Dance from Hope College. As a soloist and guest performer, his performance credits include Dance Chicago, Chicago Dance Festival, Dance in the Desert Festival, Men Dance Michigan, Next Step Dance, Chicago Humanities Festival, The Rein Orange (Duesberg, Germany) The European Cultural Bid (Liverpool, UK), The Roof (Germany), The Summer Stage (Brugge, Belgium), and various other festivals. Farmer has also had the privilege of working with and/or performing works by Avi Kaiser, Sergio Antonino, Merce Cunningham, Laura Dean, Matthew Thornton, DougVarone, Daniel Nagrin and many more.
Aside from Modern Dance; Farmer specializes in Improvisation and Jazz technique, which he is hired by many universities, conventions, and private studios to teach. He currently on faculty with Dancer’s Inc. Conventions and Competitions, and has taught for the Chicago National Association of Dance Master’s (CNADM), the Southern Association of Dance Masters (SADM), and continues to teach at conventions and master classes in US and abroad. Other teaching credits include: Blue Lake Fine Arts Camps, Interlochen, Musiker Productions and Camps, Chelsea Dance Theatre, Anderson Young Ballet, Anderson University, Oakland University, Hope College, The University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, the Summer Stage (Brugge, Belgium), and various Masters Classes around the U.S. His choreography has been produced by the Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers, Dance in the Desert Festival, Mid-West RAD Festival, Anderson University, Eastern Michigan University, Hope College, Anderson Young Ballet, Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, Chelsea Youth Dance Theatre, Musiker Productions, Spezio Dance Dynamics, Men Dance Michigan, Hope College, Next Step Dance, dANCEpROjECT, Oakland University, and many more venues/organizations.

Mrs. Huizenga is excited to be serving on the board of Turning Pointe because she has grown to love this school and everything it represents — excellent technical training while molding kids into Godly young men and women with hearts to serve. “What better place would I rather my daughter to spend her time, as well as my time and talents to serve Turning Pointe in some small way. ”
Mrs. Huizenga is the wife of Congressman Bill Huizenga and the mother of five busy kids (one of which, Ally, dances at Turning Pointe School of Dance).

Matt enjoys serving on the Board because he believes we are to glorify God with our lives, and Turning Pointe’s mission is to prepare dancers to glorify God. Matt feels that revival in this nation and world will come through music, dance, and the performing arts; those things that are relevant and attractive to a skeptical generation. “My family and I want to be part of any activity working to bring that about.”

Elise has spent 6 years helping with youth group at her church and has developed a passion for youth learning about Christ. While she may have no dance background at all, Elise felt that her desire for youth to know Christ and her financial background would be beneficial to Turning Pointe’s board.
Elise has been working in public accounting since January 2011. Elise’s primary areas of responsibilities include auditing non-profit organizations, small businesses, and governmental entities as well as tax return preparation for both non-profit and corporate clients. Elise graduated with a BBA in Accounting and also earned her Masters in the Science of Accounting from Grand Valley State University. She is currently working on obtaining her Certified Public Accountant license in Michigan. Elise is an active member in her church, assists her church’s treasurer with financial reporting, and serves on Turning Pointe’s board. She has been married to her husband AJ for 6 years, and they have a daughter, CeCe.

Since Pam has been in ministry for over 20 years, she knew many of the dancers of Turning Pointe through the years. Other board members thought that her role as spiritual mentor could be helpful to the team for the students and families. Turning Pointe has been an amazing balance of ministry and passion for music and worship for her.
Pam Graduated from Hope with double majors in Communication and Elementary Education.
She currently is the Student Department Discipleship director at Central Weslyan Church (Holland, MI) and has worked there for seven years. Prior to that she was a youth director at Christ Memorial Church, Associate Chaplain at Hope College, and an At Risk para professional at Vanderbilt Charter Academy.
She has been a volunteer leader for Young Life from 1985-1998 and was on their board for 6 years, Pam also coached for Girls on the Run in 2008, and volunteered at a church plant as a worship leader from 2001- 2004. Pam also currently mentors Hope students for ministry minor positions.
She is married to her best friend, Mitch and they have a son Grant who is 21, and a daughter Laura who is 17. She also has a music ministry with longtime friend Lyn Walker.
Michael Van Wieren

Michael’s first passion is for his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. In that, he is humbled and honored to serve on the Board for Turning Pointe Ministries. Michael and his Wife Heidi have four children: Lauren, Lucas, Noah and Bram and are members at Pillar Church. Their daughter, Lauren, danced for many years with Turning Pointe. Michael also serves on the City of Holland’s Board of Appeals, now as a member, and previously as Chairman.
A highly-respected trademark and licensing attorney, Michael has been fully absorbed in all aspects of consumer products and brand licensing. He has served as Vice President and General Counsel at Licensing Resource Group and later as Executive Vice President of Operations at Learfield Licensing Partners. He has obtained over thirty trademark registrations with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, including famous marks such as Kansas State’s “Powercat,” Hawaii’s “H” and Florida Gulf Coast’s “Dunk City.”
The breadth of his experience has lead Michael to be a guest speaker at the International Licensing Expo with Major League Soccer and also with the International Collegiate Licensing Association. He has conducted interviews with the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and ESPN and with the trade publication Inside Licensing, produced by the Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association.
Michael currently serves as General Counsel to Exemplar Associates, a boutique trademark licensing and management firm that represents select, premium colleges and universities such as Columbia University in the City of New York. Exemplar integrates global citizenry – social, environmental, economic – into strategy, helping clients align their consumer licensed products program with their institutional values.
