RECREATIONAL BALLET FROM AGE 3


In the ballet classes of the Recreational Division – Ballet, students are taught the foundations of Classical Ballet while encouraging self-confidence, focus, and self esteem in a Christian environment.  The highly-trained instructors at Turning Pointe wish to enhance your dancer’s love of our Lord while encouraging your dancer to reach their highest potential.


All classes run for the 34 week school year

The stated price is charged monthly for 9 payments

Preschool and Kinder Ballet Classes
Preschool Ballet and Preschool Ballet/Tap are introductory dance classes for students who are 3 (and potty trained by the first day of class) and 4 years old.  Classes focus on pre-ballet motor movement and ballet fundamentals with an introduction to class etiquette while in a supportive and fun environment. Classes start with an age-appropriate devotion. Maximum class size 10.

Preschool classes run the for school year. Parents  may watch through a glass window and also have two Observation Weeks per year to sit in the studio and watch students take class. Dancers do an informal, in-studio performance at Christmas and they also perform in the End Of Year Showcase. (Showcase Costume and Participation fees apply.)

 

 

Kinder Ballet and Kinder Ballet/Tap are introductory dance classes for students who are 5 and 6.  Classes focus on pre-ballet motor movement and ballet fundamentals with an introduction to class etiquette while in a supportive and fun environment. No experience needed. Our carefully constructed curriculum prepares dancers for further study. Maximum class size 12.

 

Parent Observation Weeks occur in Fall and Winter. Dancers do an informal, in-studio performance at Christmas and also perform in the End of Year Showcase (Costume and Participation fees apply.)

Ballet Classes Ages 6-18

Youth Ballet classes are held once-a-week and focus on ballet fundamentals along with class etiquette and self discipline while in a supportive and fun, Christian environment. Our carefully constructed curriculum prepares Youth Ballet dancers for higher level study. Classes start with an age-appropriate devotion. Classes run through the school year. Parent Observation Weeks occur in Fall and Winter. Dancers do an informal, in-studio performance at Christmas and also perform in the End of Year Showcase (Showcase Costume and Participation fees apply).

 Youth Ballet 1 is for students from age 6 with no experience. 40% off if it is the dancer’s second class!

 

Youth Ballet 2 requires experience.  Parents of dancers with full-year experience please call the office to inquire about placement. 40% off if it is the dancer’s second class!

 

Youth Ballet 3 is designed for 8 and 9 year olds who prefer to take ballet once a week. No experience is required. 40% off if it is the dancer’s second class.

 

Creative Worship Group is open to all Recreational Division dancers ages 8 and older, along with dancers in Training Division Level 1A. Dancers must be taking a class at Turning Pointe – the Creative Worship Group is their second or third class.

The Creative Worship Group performs approximately five times/year during class time and weekends at nursing homes, churches, and in the May Showcase. Regular class dress code, black dance shorts, black jazz shoes, TPSD tee shirt any color. Group will also perform a service project. $25 monthly fee.

 

 

 

 

Training Division classes are for students from age 8 wishing more intense study of Classical Ballet. Hudsonville students attend class twice per week: once at the Hudsonville studio and once at the Holland studio.

Along with Parent Observation Weeks in Fall and Winter, Level 1A and 1B dancers perform an informal, in-studio dance at Christmas and also perform in the End of Year Showcase (fees apply). Level 1B and Level 2 dancers perform in one song in the large-scale, ticketed ballet, The Promise. Level 2 dancers perform in one song in The Promise and the large-scale, ticketed Spring Ballet (fees apply).

Training Division Level 1A Hudsonville is an entry level class with no experience necessary.

 

Training Division Level 1B Hudsonville and Level 2 Hudsonville require experience and placement. Please contact the office for placement.
