Dress Code

Most dress code items are available at the Holland studio store.

Ballet Classes

Female Ballet Students

  • Leotard of appropriate color, any style (see below)
  • White elastic waistband for sale at studio (not required for Preschool or Kinder)
  • Pink tights
  • Pink ballet shoes, canvas or leather, with bows tucked in (please label)
  • Hair in a tidy ballet bun

Male Ballet Students

  • Men’s black dance tights
  • Dance belt (undergarment for male dancers)
  • White fitted t-shirt, preferably ‘under armor’-type shirt
  • Black ballet shoes (canvas)

Leotard Colors as follows: 

Preschool Ballet and Preschool Ballet & Tap
               Light Pink (skirts or tutus allowed)
Kinder Ballet and Kinder Ballet & Tap
               Light Pink (skirt or tutus allowed)
Youth Ballet 1
              Mulberry  (skirts allowed)
Youth Ballet 2, Youth Ballet 3

Jazz and Tap Classes

Female Jazz and Tap Students

  • Leotard of appropriate color (see below), any style
  • Hair in Ponytail
  • Black jazz pants
  • Jazz shoes – black split sole (no sneakers)
  • Tap shoes – non-shiny black leather (shiny okay for Preschool/Kinder)

Male Jazz and Tap Students

  • White fitted t-shirt, preferably ‘under armor’- type shirt
  • Black jazz pants
  • Jazz shoes – black split sole (no sneakers)
  • Tap shoes – non-shiny black leather (shiny okay for Preschool/Kinder)

 Leotard Colors as follow:

Tap/Jazz A – Grape

Tap B, Jazz B – Red

Tap C, Jazz C – Royal

Tap D, Advanced Tap – Black

Jazz D, Choreography – Black

Note: Students whose Tap & Jazz levels differ may wear either color for
back-to-back classes

Hip-Hop Classes

Male and Female Hip-Hop Students

  • Plain red t-shirt (no writing)
  • Specific black sweat pants sold at Turning Pointe store
  • Black Converse-style shoes (low or high)
    • Note:  Shoes must never be worn outside or they will damage floors
